Every week I ran at least one time. Getting new shoes and a Garmin watch really helped and motivated me: ) Total Miles: 21 (might be a little off due to Nike+) Average Pace: 12 min Weight: 111 lbs (woah, that’s 4 lbs! Easter candy will change all that^_~) Problem Spot Measurements: waist: 28 inches, pooch area/hips: 33 inches. I lost 1/2 inch in those...

Muji
I have a new favorite store. Muji. If Ikea and Japan had a baby, this would be it. Muji has a mini store in the JFK Airport in New York. You should’ve heard me when I went in. Something like, “Eeeeee!!! OMG!! Oooooh! Eep! Look at this! Ah! It’s just like Japan! Look look!!!” ….yeah, I think I embarrassed Rob. But it’s an awesome store! Their view is to be...

Normalcy.
One of my goals is to become better a blogging. I love writing posts and sharing my life. But, life is just so crazy now! Every time I think I have it under control, something new pops up and I’m learning to fit it into everything else. And it’s all great stuff too, life is so awesome right now! Slowly I’m starting to get used to my new schedule. Test out what works,...

On April 1st, 2005, Rob proposed to me with this piece of string. (A long story that actually had nothing to do with pranks or jokes) + + Today, 7 years later, he surprised me with this: I have the best husband in the world: )

A Surprise in Raleigh
A few weeks ago Rob had asked me if I wanted to go to Raleigh on March 25th, but he would not tell me why, just that we’d be doing something fun and slightly nerd. Sure, why not? We could totally use more fun and adventure. It was a little nerve-wracking not know what we’d be doing. I am a planner, I need to know things. But I guess that’s good that he kept is a secret,...

Suzy = employed!
That’s right folks, I got a job! I’m super super excited!  I’ll be a prepress/ customer rep for a printing company. My boss, is great! I totally dig his views, values and work ethics. Plus he has us on Macs and well, that’s awesome! He is Mac geek (which me and Rob have noticed is kind of rare here in Charlotte). They do charity work too! Sweet! And my good friend, who I...

Tuesday Goal: Just run Run Length & Time: 2.01 miles in 00:21 minutes, with a pace of 10:24 How I Felt: Bleh Calories Burned: 184 Notes: I was busy running around town and didn’t drink much water. Bad idea if you want to run, ‘specially if it’s warm outside. I felt crappy and just gave up after 2 miles. Sometimes you need bad runs to learn lessons. Drink water!! ...

REI Garage Sale
This morning Rob and I got up dark and early and headed to our local REI store for their garage sale, a members only sale where you can buy used and returned items at crazy prices. REI is extremely generous with their returns when you are a member, you can return something dirty and worn with no questions asked. Whatever, more stuff for me to buy at the sale! We got there at 7:30am,...

School Work
I love how I said that I couldn’t wait to post my projects that I’d do in school. Pfft. Truthfully, I haven’t been doing a lot of projects, each class we’ve done about 3 big projects. And sometimes, they are kind of boring to share, like do you really want to see my personas and revised light rail map? Fun to me, not fun sharing material. Of course as this quarter winds...

Run #4
Today’s Goal: To try out my new shoes Run Length & Time: 2.8 miles in 00:31 minute (estimated) How I Felt: The core strengthening exercises I do at the chiropractor is making me sore all the time, so running is not as smooth as I’d like it to be. Calories Burned: Around 300 Notes: I got new shoes!! I got the Brooks PureConnect, which are awesome. They are super light and just fun....

Run #3
I found out that my Nike+GPS app is off by .3 miles. That’s huge! So those last couple runs, not 4 miles, more like 3.5. Oh well, now I know. Yesterday’s Goal: To run with Rob in the Business Park Run Length & Time: 3.49 miles in 00:42, with an average 12:00 minute mile How I Felt: It was a good run, but it still wore me out. I ran further than I did the previous times and that...

Run #2
Today’s Goal: Just run and focus on keeping my core engaged. Run Length & Time: 4.1 miles in 00:35 How I Felt: I felt awesome! I don’t know where this is coming from, but I like it. And here I thought I’d have to slowly build myself up to a 5k and I’m going past it. Calories Burned: 350 Notes: I started my 8 week treatment at the chiropractor this week. I have a funky...

I won!
“What this big box?”, asks Molly. Last weekend at Myrtle Beach at the marathon’s expo, I entered a raffle to win a huge gift basket from Bi-Lo (a regional supermarket). And I won!!  OMG, goodies galore! They call it a marathoner’s recovery gift basket, so it was filled with a bunch of heathy stuff. I’m completely amazed of how much stuff we got....

WatchWatch
I am in love with this show! It’s called Playful Kiss and it’s a korean drama (but it’s a comedy) about a girl, Oh Ha Ni, who has a huge crush on this guy who say he hates her and she and her father ends up living with the and his family. Imagine how he feels about that. It’s such a sweet show and pretty funny. The actress who play Oh Ha Ni is just super adorable!

Hello Running!
Since today is going to be very warm, I decided that it was a perfect day to start running again. Right now I’m taking it slow and easy. Once there’s consistent warm weather, then I’ll run more regularly. No pressure right now. I’ll try to chart my progress as I go. It’s going to be interesting looking back and see how much I’ve improved. I’m also going...

Spring Time Goals
Spring is almost here! This winter has been a tease, with its super warm weather. Every time I think it’s going to stay super warm, the next day it’s in the 40’s. It’s driving me crazy. Last year, I felt I wasted spring and summer. I wasn’t outside enough, I didn’t plant things, no garden, no camping. I know things were kind of wonky, but still, like what...

Myrtle Beach
This weekend we went to Myrtle Beach, SC. Rob and a few of our friends were running the Myrtle Beach Marathon. It was my first time at Myrtle Beach and it was quite something. Rob was right, not the California beach environment I’m used to. It was like Las Vegas on the beach. However, we had an awesome time! This was Rob’s second marathon. His first was just about 3 months ago!...

Our Valentine's Day
I hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day! I really enjoyed mine with Rob. On Saturday we went to our fav. local sushi restaurant for dinner. Then we went to the movies and saw The Descendants, which was a real good movie, but pretty sad. We ended the night with some awesome cupcakes from a local bakery. On Sunday morning we made egg, bacon and biscuit sandwiches. These sage biscuits...

Let's go to Asheville!
So yesterday morning after Rob and I had breakfast, he asks me what I wanted to do for the day. I just shrugged my shoulders and said that I didn’t have anything planned. “Do you want to go to Asheville?”, he asks. I blink, ponder it a bit and thought why the heck not! We’ve been stuck being lazy and boring for so long now. We quickly got ready, packed a few things and...

Goodbye January!
I have to say that January was a great month! 2012 rocks already! School’s going pretty good! I’m finally getting into a good groove with it. I no longer feel like the confused kid from that first week. I’m having fun with my projects too. I’m currently working on a new transit map for Charlotte’s light rail, crazy, but fun. I’m also grateful that I have...

Here’s my first school assignment that I get to share. For my User Centered Design class, we had to redesign a remote control to make it more user friendly. I chose to make a remote for young kids! How fun would this be?

My First Day Back in School
Yesterday was my first day at Art Institute of Charlotte for the Web Design & Development certificate. I survived, but I felt like this @_@ at the end. It’s such a weird and different feeling being an adult student who’s already been to college before. All those young adult insecurities come flooding back (do I look cool? will people like me? how are my teachers?) and add a...

Slowing down
Something that’s been “trending” through the media lately is Slow Downing or Being Quiet. Meaning people are trying to break away from the screen and the constant need to be connected. Rob and I had this discussion while taking the dogs on a extra long walk on New Year’s Day. We’ve become aware that we’re always on our iPhones and computers. We’d be...

52 Weeks of Blythe Photos-Week 1
I thought I would start a 52 weeks photo project this year. Piper, my Blythe doll, thought she would be the perfect subject. I couldn’t say no. So here’s Piper for week 1. She’s wearing a top and dress I had just sewn for her using Simplicity pattern 2353.
