Our Valentine's Day
I hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day!
I really enjoyed mine with Rob. On Saturday we went to our fav. local sushi restaurant for dinner. Then we went to the movies and saw The Descendants, which was a real good movie, but pretty sad. We ended the night with some awesome cupcakes from a local bakery.
On Sunday morning we made egg, bacon and biscuit sandwiches. These sage biscuits...

Let's go to Asheville!
So yesterday morning after Rob and I had breakfast, he asks me what I wanted to do for the day. I just shrugged my shoulders and said that I didn’t have anything planned.
“Do you want to go to Asheville?”, he asks.
I blink, ponder it a bit and thought why the heck not! We’ve been stuck being lazy and boring for so long now.
We quickly got ready, packed a few things and...

Goodbye January!
I have to say that January was a great month! 2012 rocks already!
School’s going pretty good! I’m finally getting into a good groove with it. I no longer feel like the confused kid from that first week. I’m having fun with my projects too. I’m currently working on a new transit map for Charlotte’s light rail, crazy, but fun. I’m also grateful that I have...
Err...excuse me!
Ack! How did that end of the month post get posted? I was still working on it…hence no pictures and such.
Ummm….let’s look some cows!

Remote Redesign Assignment
Here’s my first school assignment that I get to share.
For my User Centered Design class, we had to redesign a remote control to make it more user friendly. I chose to make a remote for young kids! How fun would this be?

Pintrest
Hello everyone!
I finally got a Pintrest account about a month ago! What was I thinking? I could waste so much time there! Hee hee.
I’m not an avid poster (pinner?), but I do have some cool things on there.
You can check me out if you want ^_^

My First Day Back in School
Yesterday was my first day at Art Institute of Charlotte for the Web Design & Development certificate. I survived, but I felt like this @_@ at the end.
It’s such a weird and different feeling being an adult student who’s already been to college before. All those young adult insecurities come flooding back (do I look cool? will people like me? how are my teachers?) and add a...

Slowing down
Something that’s been “trending” through the media lately is Slow Downing or Being Quiet. Meaning people are trying to break away from the screen and the constant need to be connected.
Rob and I had this discussion while taking the dogs on a extra long walk on New Year’s Day. We’ve become aware that we’re always on our iPhones and computers. We’d be...

52 Weeks of Blythe Photos-Week 1
I thought I would start a 52 weeks photo project this year. Piper, my Blythe doll, thought she would be the perfect subject. I couldn’t say no.
So here’s Piper for week 1. She’s wearing a top and dress I had just sewn for her using Simplicity pattern 2353.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone!
I hope everyone had fun celebrating the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012. We spent it with Rob’s parents and then with our neighbors outside around a fire pit. Quite fun actually. Oh and there were fireworks courtesy of Rob.
It’s time for us to start making those resolutions again! This year, I don’t really have specific resolutions, but a...

2011 Year End Recap Part 2
Part 2 of my 2011 recap!
I don’t know if it’s because it’s bit more fresh in my memory, but the second half of the year was a lot more fun.

Had my laparoscopy surgery. Said good-bye to my job. And of course my birthday is always a blast!

2011 Year End Recap Part 1
Good bye 2011!
This was a hard year for me…a very sucky year! Bleh. But, I am taking those bad moments and learning from them. If anything, learning to STAY POSITIVE and positive will come to you, something that didn’t really click until earlier this month. (yes, I read The Secret and its message was so simple).
Thankfully, this year had its great moments too, and they were just...

Our Christmas
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and holiday.
We had a nice Christmas over here. After opening presents and watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2, we had dinner with Rob’s parents and his brother and wife. Good food and way too many cookies!
Rob in his lazy suit (which he got from work) and Faith sitting on the little quilt I made her.

Christmas Cookies!
This is the first year I baked Christmas cookies, something I always wanted to do. My mom can’t bake this year due to a hand surgery, so I thought I’d bake some of her cookies and some of my own for our family.
This was the first time I ever baked my mom’s cookies. She still bakes her cookies european style, weighing it in grams and such. I had to get myself a food scale....

Christmas Decorations at Suzy's
I just love decorating for Christmas! The best is when I buy a bunch of things after Christmas that’s on sale and I forget about it. So when I pull out the boxes, hurray new decorations! Also, I love getting the dollar store and drug store decorations, the cheesier the better. Next year I might get the Santa kneeling next to the baby Jesus, heh.
The mantel is always the most fun. A great...

A Holly Hair Clip Tutorial!
I made this simple and easy hair clip to wear during the holidays. I thought I’d share how I made it, so you all can make one too!
Step 1: Gather your supplies. You’ll need a hair clip of some sorts, some green felt, 3 red buttons, some red and green embroidery thread, scissors, needle and scrap paper.

Step 2: With some paper cut out a holly leaf. (you can skip this and...

Beary Cute!
As I mentioned before, I am having fun sewing stuffed animals. I had some leftover fur felt from Rob’s Halloween costume (big bad wolf hat) so I decided to make a couple stuffed bears from the fabric.
Here’s my first go at it. A little wonky, but pretty cute!
Attempt #2 with a few changes. I made this for Rob’s cousin’s little girl. She adored it, success!

What I've been up to?
So I’m back from my blogging break.
The internet is boring to me when I don’t blog, heh. I hope that I can keep posting at least every other day and keep being fun and interesting.
We did a few fun things while I’ve been away.
For Rob’s birthday we went to the Charlotte Oktoberfest beer festival.
We started off November going to Arizona for my sister’s...
